Description

A creamy and flavorful spaghetti dish with garlic, herbs, and mushrooms, perfect for a delightful meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (such as cremini or button)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and tender.
  4. Stir in the dried thyme and oregano, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and vegetable broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  6. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
  • Add cooked chicken or shrimp for extra protein and flavor.
