Description

Crispy Baked Fish Sticks with Tartar Sauce are delicious and easy to make, perfect for a family meal or a fun dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for drizzling
  • For the tartar sauce:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Cut the fish fillets into strips about 1 inch wide.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
  5. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  6. Coat each fish strip in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  7. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  8. Place the coated fish sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Lightly spray the tops of the fish sticks with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  11. While the fish sticks are baking, prepare the tartar sauce by mixing together the mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  12. Serve the crispy fish sticks hot with the tartar sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding some chopped fresh herbs like parsley or dill to the tartar sauce.
  • You can also substitute the white fish with salmon or shrimp for a different twist.
  • Serve with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
