Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Garlic Butter Steak and Lemon Green Beans Skillet recipe that combines tender steak with fresh green beans in a flavorful garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper. Once the oil is hot, add the steak to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the green beans to the skillet and stir to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the steak to the skillet and add the lemon juice and zest. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
  • Substitute the green beans with asparagus or broccoli for a different flavor and texture.
