Description
A delicious and easy recipe for Lemon Butter Pan-Fried Tilapia, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound tilapia fillets
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Dredge each fillet in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, carefully add the tilapia fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once the tilapia is cooked, remove it from the skillet and place it on a serving platter.
- In the same skillet, add the lemon juice and lemon zest, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for about 1 minute to enhance the flavors.
- Pour the lemon butter sauce over the tilapia fillets and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, substitute the all-purpose flour with almond flour or a gluten-free flour blend.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter sauce for a spicy kick.
