Description

Steak and Cheese Dirty Fry Burritos are a delicious fusion of cheesy fries and savory steak wrapped in a tortilla, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen French fries
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup pico de gallo
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the French fry package instructions. Spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet and bake until crispy, usually about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  2. While the fries are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the sliced flank steak with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the steak to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the hot fries. Return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
  4. To assemble the burritos, lay a tortilla flat and add a generous portion of cheesy fries, followed by the cooked steak, pico de gallo, and jalapeños if using.
  5. Roll the tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you go, to create a burrito. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  6. Serve the burritos with sour cream on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add hot sauce to the pico de gallo or use pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar.
  • You can also substitute the flank steak with grilled chicken or sautéed vegetables for a different flavor profile.
