Begin by finely chopping the shrimp into small pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Add the breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
Stir in the beaten egg until the mixture holds together. If it feels too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
Form the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should get around 8-10 patties.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the shrimp cakes in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.
