On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut the dough into circles using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
Carefully drop the biscuit rounds into the hot oil, frying a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Remove the biscuits from the oil and drain on paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix the honey and cinnamon (if using). Drizzle the honey mixture over the warm biscuits before serving.
