Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets, olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the broccoli is evenly coated.
Spread the broccoli mixture in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and slightly charred, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Toss gently to combine.
If using, sprinkle toasted pine nuts on top before serving.
